Born on September 26th, 1980, in the vibrant city of Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, Anand began his creative journey at a remarkably young age. By the time he was 12, he was already writing and directing plays in school, showcasing his innate talent and passion for the performing arts.
As he entered adulthood, Anand's creative output continued to flourish. At the tender age of 19, he wrote a staggering 100 episodes of two television soap operas, which went on to become the most popular shows in the history of Indian television. This remarkable achievement was followed by the prestigious National Award for his play "Sugandhi" in the same year.
Despite dropping out of formal education, Anand pursued his passion for philosophy by completing a diploma in the subject. He spent the next few years traveling across India, immersing himself in the country's rich cultural heritage, meeting people from all walks of life, and attending a series of workshops on diverse subjects ranging from Gandhian economics to Quantum physics.
In 2003, Anand made his directorial debut with the film "Right Here, Right Now," which was made on a shoestring budget with the help of believing friends. The film gained a cult following among Mumbai's film enthusiasts and later received international acclaim, solidifying its place in the annals of Indian cinema.
Today, Anand is a visiting lecturer at a Mass Media college in Mumbai and has facilitated creative workshops for students all over India. His debut feature-length film is expected to release in 2006, promising to showcase his unique storytelling style and artistic vision to a wider audience.
