Anand is a renowned Indian film actor, predominantly active in the Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu film industries, with a few notable appearances in Kannada productions. He has also made a significant impact in Malayalam and Tamil television serials.
Anand's acting career began in 1987 with the film "Vanna Kanavugal". He is best recognized for his roles in films such as "Sathya" (1988),"Anbe En Anbe" (1988),"Apoorva Sagodharargal" (1989),"Oor Mariyadhai" (1992),"Thalaivasal" (1992),"Thiruda Thiruda" (1993),which was screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, and "Enakku 20 Unakku 18" (2003).
Born in Hyderabad, Anand is the youngest of four sons to V.S.Bharathi, a former employee of Brook bond India Ltd, and Rajalakshmi, a homemaker. His brothers include B.Ramesh, Vice President of Finance at Times of India, Dr. B.Suresh, Head of English at Vivekananda College, and B.Arun, a former Indian cricketer and current bowling coach for the Indian cricket team.
In addition to his acting career, Anand has also ventured into filmmaking, producing and directing the Malayalam short film "Kassu Panam Thuttu Money Money".
Recently, Anand has appeared as a character actor in several successful films, including "1: Nenokkadine" (2014),"Ring Master" (2014),"Ivan Maryadaraman" (2015),"Srimanthudu" (2015),and "Gentleman" (2016).
Anand and his wife, Poornima, share a passion for food and own a popular restaurant named Zenzerro in Trivandrum. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu featuring over 160 items from various cuisines, including Indian, Italian, Chinese, and Thai, making it a culinary haven.
