Amy's journey in the film industry began after she completed her screenwriting degrees from Pepperdine University, New York Film Academy, and UCLA. She leveraged her connections from her job on Boy Meets World to assemble a cast for her debut feature film, Buck Naked Arson, which premiered at the San Francisco Film Fest and received the Best Feature award. Variety praised the film, stating it was "As if John Hughes re-made Rashomon."
Amy's success in independent filmmaking led her to the studio world, where she won the 2005 Disney Fellowship for her romantic comedy, Running Mate. She also sold her comedy, Kept Men, to Paramount Pictures. Since then, Amy has worked on various projects for Fox Studios, Weintraub Films, Chernin Entertainment, Kopelson Entertainment, and Dreamworks Pictures, bringing her signature blend of big comedies with heart to the table.
In 2010, Amy made the Hit List with her spec script, Launching the Pattersons, and sold her original feature, Kylie Claus, to the Disney Channel. The following year, she wrote the romantic adventure comedy, My Lucky Star, for actress Ziyi Zhang, as well as Family Camp and Family of the Bride for Sony Pictures, and the television pilot, Daddy's Girl.
Since then, Amy has written five feature films for the China market, sold a comedy pilot to Amazon, and adapted the books Blind Courage and Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters into features. Born in Oklahoma, Amy was raised in Palos Verdes and currently resides in Los Angeles with her family and three dogs.
