Amy Halpern was a prolific filmmaker, having created nearly forty short films, the majority of which were shot on 16mm film, as well as the feature film FALLING LESSONS, which was released in 1991.
Born and raised in the bustling metropolis of New York City, Halpern would go on to spend over four decades living and working in the vibrant city of Los Angeles.
In June of 2022, Halpern completed a remarkable suite of twelve new films, which she then premiered at a prestigious festival in Spain.
Tragically, just six weeks later, Halpern was struck down by severe leukaemia, specifically acute myeloid leukaemia (AML),and ultimately succumbed to the disease.
