Biography

Amro Salama, a American citizen, was born in Cairo, Egypt, and spent his formative years in Springfield, Illinois. His passion for acting was ignited during his high school days at Southeast High School, where he showcased his talents in productions such as Annie Get Your Gun and Guys and Dolls, playing the roles of Chief Sitting Bull and Sky Masterson, respectively.

During his summers, Amro had the opportunity to perform in numerous shows at the Springfield Muni Opera, further honing his craft. After graduating from Bradley University, where he initially studied civil engineering before switching to a degree in acting, Amro went on to perform in various plays, including works by Shakespeare and Vaclav Havel.

Following his college years, Amro relocated to New York City to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor. Despite having no agent, manager, or union status, Amro's big break came when he was cast in the film The Siege, opposite Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, and Bruce Willis, thanks to the guidance of director Ed Zwick.

Amro continued his acting studies under the tutelage of the renowned Bill Esper at his studios in Manhattan. As he gained experience and joined the Screen Actors Guild, Amro booked roles on Law and Order, Third Watch, and other TV shows.

Subsequently, Amro relocated to Hollywood, where he quickly established himself as a sought-after actor, booking roles on Sleeper Cell, Modern Family, Suite Life on Deck, and numerous other TV projects.

Currently based in Chicago, Amro continues to sharpen his skills on the Chicago and regional stages, as well as on TV. His recent credits include the role of Habib on Showtime's The Chi and Judge Thompson on Proven Innocent, episode "Accidental Losses". Amro has also appeared on Chicago PD and Shameless.

Amro is now focused on working on inspirational-based projects in both TV and film, leveraging his extensive experience to bring meaningful stories to life.
