Biography

Amr Waked was born in the vibrant city of Cairo, Egypt in the year 1972. He embarked on a journey of self-discovery by studying economics and theatre at the prestigious American University in Cairo.

As he honed his craft, Amr joined the esteemed Temple Theatre Troop in 1994 and later, the Yaaru Theatre Troop in 1999, where he refined his skills as a stage performer under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

With his extensive experience in theatre, Amr successfully transitioned to the big screen in 1998, landing his first film role in Ossama Fawzy's "Gannet El Shayateen". His remarkable performance earned him widespread recognition and praise, cementing his status as a talented actor with a wide range of emotional depth.

In 2003, Amr joined the cast of Stephen Gaghan's critically acclaimed film, Syriana, marking his debut in international cinema. His impressive performance in this film opened doors to further opportunities in global productions, including House Of Saddam and Salmon Fishing In The Yemen.

In 2005, Amr co-founded "zad communication & production llc", a production company dedicated to addressing developmental and social issues in Egypt and the Middle East. The agency's first feature film, "Winter Of Discontent", directed by Ibrahim El Batout, premiered at the 69th Venice Film Festival in 2012, solidifying Amr's position as a multifaceted artist with a passion for storytelling.
