Biography

Amir Chamdin, born in 1974 in Stockholm, initially gained recognition as the vocalist of the Swedish cult-band Infinite Mass. This experience allowed him to transition into a director, and he later joined Jonas Åkerlund and Johan Renck, becoming the third director at Renck Åkerlund Film.

In 2004, Amir received the MTV Award for Best Music Video directing The Cardigans' "You're the Storm" (2003).

The following year, he co-founded the production company Chamdin & Stöhr with producer Martina Stöhr and Daniel Sachs. Together, they produced numerous international award-winning commercials for clients such as H&M, Ikea, Adidas, Nokia, and The Andy Warhol Exhibition.

In 2006, Amir made his cinematic debut with the film Om Gud vill, which starred Nina Persson from The Cardigans and Amir himself. The film's success led Jack White (The White Stripes) to grant Amir permission to record a new version of the song "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground," which became the theme song of the movie.

In 2010, Amir's feature film Cornelis premiered in Sweden and Norway, telling the unique chronicle of one of Sweden's greatest music legends. Amir made an unexpected casting choice by casting Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby (Turbonegro) as Cornelis, which resulted in the film going straight to number one at the box office and receiving widespread acclaim throughout the Nordic countries.

In 2011, Amir directed over 15 global television campaigns for H&M, and his passion for music continued to play a significant role in his work. The highlight of the year was a meeting with one of Amir's most influential composers, Ennio Morricone.
