Biography

Amanda Peterson, a talented and gifted actress, was born on July 8th in Greeley, Colorado, to James and Sylvia Peterson. She was the youngest of three children, with a sister, Ann-Marie Peterson, and a brother, Rev. Jim Peterson.

Amanda's early start in the film industry began at the age of 9, when she landed a role in John Huston's feature film "Annie" in 1982. She had to persuade her mother and compete in a casting that included over 8,000 girls to secure the part.

Starting in 1981, Amanda had guest-starring roles in television series such as "Father Murphy," "Silver Spoons," and "Boone." In 1985, she appeared alongside River Phoenix and Ethan Hawke in Joe Dante's fantasy-fable "Explorers."

At 14 years old, Amanda had already participated in over 50 television commercials, three television series, and four movies. She was also an active member of the Greeley Saddle Club and had a passion for horse riding since childhood.

Amanda's greatest international success came in 1987 with the comedy movie "Can't Buy Me Love," directed by Steve Rash. She received critical praise worldwide and demonstrated her ability to take on older roles.

In 1987, Amanda acted alongside her sister Ann-Marie Peterson, Jsu Garcia, and Xander Berkeley in the post-apocalyptic movie "The Lawless Land," directed by Jon Hess and produced by Academy Award-winner Roger Corman.
