Amanda Brooke Lerner, a multiple-award-winning actress, has accumulated over 50 indie film and TV credits throughout her career. Her extensive credits include appearances in Awkwafina Is NORA FROM QUEENS alongside B.D. Wong, MAC & CHEESE alongside Julia Garner, Starz POWER alongside Omari Hardwick, and the upcoming feature BROOKLYN with Francesca Scorsese and Margaret Cho.
Theatrically, Lerner originated the role of Marie in Kirt Shineman's GOOD GRIEF at The Cell, in association with Dramatists Guild Foundation, and appeared as Dr. Judy Wood in BASKET WEAVER at Playwrights Horizons, Lillie in STILL, BIRTH at Theatre for A New City, and regionally as Blanche Dubois in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. She has also participated in numerous readings in the Playwrights & Directors Unit at The Actors Studio.
Lerner holds a BFA in Acting from Rutgers University and has received extensive training from renowned teachers such as Bill Esper, Larry Moss, Maggie Flanigan, Tim Phillips, and Deborah Hedwall. As a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, she serves on the National Low Budget Film Committee since 2019 and as a Convention Delegate.
As the CEO and founder of The Actor & The Biz, Lerner has built a remarkable reputation as an acting and career coach, specializing in educating and preparing actors for the realities of show business. She is utilized by many professionals across TV, film, and stage, and serves as CEO Jen Rudolph's lead business coach for The 2% Collective.
As a Hard of Hearing (HoH) person, Lerner is dedicated to establishing authentic representation in the entertainment world for those caught between the Hard of Hearing and hearing worlds. She aims to neutralize the stigma surrounding hearing aids and promote a more inclusive environment.
Born and raised in New York, Lerner is a 4th generation New Yorker who is passionate about 1940's pinup dresses, mid-century modern design, and sea salt dark chocolate.
