Aly Michalka was born in Torrance, California, to Carrie Begley, a musician, and Mark Michalka, the owner of a contracting company, with ancestry tracing back to Germany, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
Aly began her acting career at the tender age of five, taking the stage in various church productions outside of Seattle, Washington, and Thousand Oaks, California. Her early performances showcased her talent in numerous musicals, including "Jailhouse Rock" and "A Time to Remember".
As a multi-talented individual, Alyson is a skilled musician, proficient in playing the piano and guitar, and has a passion for writing music and singing. Alongside her younger sister, AJ Michalka, Aly forms the popular pop-music duo Aly & AJ, which has achieved platinum-selling success with "Hollywood Records".
When not acting, Alyson enjoys expressing her creativity through drawing, a talent that was recognized by Hallmark Cards. At the age of 10, she won a contest for a Christmas card in 1999, showcasing her artistic skills.
In recent years, Alyson has developed an interest in fashion and sewing, with plans to launch her own clothing line. The Torrance, California, native currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her parents, sister, and two dogs, Saint and Bandit.
