Pulpeiro's cinematic endeavors are characterized by a profound sense of dislocation and disconnection, as he masterfully captures the existential struggle to find one's place within a rapidly changing global landscape. His melancholic gaze serves as a poignant commentary on the relentless tide of modernity, which simultaneously alienates and liberates individuals from the confines of their perceived homelands.

Born in 1990 in the quaint village of Foz, Galicia, Spain, Pulpeiro spent his formative years traversing isolated industrial cities across Canada, Brazil, and Australia, fostering a unique perspective shaped by his experiences of displacement and cultural adaptation. Following his graduation from the prestigious Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, he settled in South America in 2015, where he would go on to develop a series of innovative projects that showcase his distinctive voice as a filmmaker.

Two feature-length documentaries stand out among his body of work, both of which premiered at esteemed international film festivals. Nocturno: Ghosts of the Sea in Port (72', 2017) was developed within DocLisboa's ARCHÉ workshop and competed at Gijón's FICX and Edinburgh's EIFF. In contrast, So Foul a Sky (83', 2021),filmed over the course of three years in Venezuela, premiered at the Next:Wave competition of the prestigious Danish festival CPH:DOX. This critically acclaimed film has garnered numerous accolades, including the Best Cinematography award at Saratov (Russia) and a nomination for Best Spanish Director at SEFF (Seville),with its global premiere taking place at festivals worldwide. Following its successful theatrical run in Spanish commercial cinemas, So Foul a Sky is now available on various streaming platforms, including FILMIN, Amazon Prime USA, Pluto TV, TrueStory, and more.

Pulpeiro is currently in production on his first feature fiction project, 'Petroleo', a testament to his continued growth as a filmmaker and his unwavering dedication to crafting innovative, thought-provoking cinema.
