Biography

Allan Miller, a renowned actor, director, teacher, and writer, has had a distinguished career spanning decades. With over 200 film and television credits to his name, he has also appeared in numerous stage productions, including Curve of Departure, Awake and Sing, Broadway Bound, and Death of a Salesman, where he played the iconic role of Willie Loman.

In addition to his acting work, Miller has also directed more than a dozen productions, including Are You Now or Have You Ever Been... and The Fox, for which he received a LADCC award for direction. He has directed productions for the Back Alley Theatre, Odyssey Theatre, and Roundabout Theatre, among others.

As an educator, Miller has taught at esteemed institutions such as The Actors Studio, Yale School of Drama, and New York University's MFA professional program. He has also written two books, "A Passion for Acting" and "The Craft of Acting: Auditioning," and has been prominently featured in Barbra Streisand's autobiography.

Miller's play, The Fox, has been widely produced and optioned internationally, and has been translated into several languages. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has served on the Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild.

Throughout his career, Miller has received numerous awards and accolades, including the LADCC Margaret Hartford Award for Distinguished Achievement and a LADCC award for direction. He continues to teach and coach privately, offering a free weekly Zoom class on his website.
