Alicia Machado, a renowned Venezuelan beauty, was born to a Cuban father and Spanish mother who relocated to Venezuela in the mid-20th century. Her father, a distant relative of former Cuban dictator Gerardo Machado, fled Cuba following the collapse of the Machado regime and found refuge in Venezuela.
