Alex was born in 1982 in the quaint Cornish village of Mawnan Smith, relocating at the tender age of nine to the picturesque coastal town of St Ives, where his parents embarked on a new venture, opening a guest house that would serve as the backdrop for Alex's early years. As he grew older, he would often find himself juggling his acting roles with a part-time job at his brother's gardening business, a unique and unconventional work arrangement that would shape his perspective and skillset.
Upon graduating from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2004, Alex would go on to make a name for himself in the world of television, initially gaining widespread recognition for his roles in the television serialisation of 'Fanny Hill', a project that would push his boundaries and challenge him as an actor. In particular, his on-screen chemistry with actress Rebecca Night would leave a lasting impression, as they shared some of the most intimate and emotionally charged scenes in the series.
Beyond his work in television, Alex has also made a significant impact on the stage, appearing in a wide range of productions that showcase his incredible versatility as an actor. Some of his notable roles include Stuart Sutcliffe in the Beatles biopic 'Backbeat' for the Glasgow Citizens Theatre, a performance that would allow him to delve deep into the psyche of the enigmatic and talented musician. He has also appeared in 'Horse Piss for Blood' at the Drum, Plymouth, 'Woman in Mind' by Alan Ayckbourn at Salisbury, and 'Orestes' for Shared Experience, a testament to his dedication to his craft and his willingness to take on a wide range of roles that challenge and inspire him.
