Biography

Born in the vibrant city of New York, Alex Desert's journey as an actor began early in life, shaped by two pivotal moments that would forever alter his trajectory. The first instance occurred while browsing the audio section of the Donell Public Library, where he stumbled upon a record that would have a profound impact on his life - Paul Williams' soundtrack for the Alan Parker film, Bugsy Malone. As he obsessively listened to the musical score, Alex would intensely scrutinize the record cover, secretly yearning to be one of the actors in this film.

The second incident took place when his older brother revealed to him that the characters on TV's M*A*S*H were not, in fact, doctors but rather actors, leaving Alex with a profound understanding of his calling.

After graduating from the prestigious School of the Performing Arts in New York City, Alex relocated to Los Angeles, where he has since had a diverse acting career. As a series regular on shows such as CBS's Becker, Boy Meets World, and The Flash, he has also appeared in numerous guest starring roles on programs including Grey's Anatomy, Mom, and House MD. His film credits include cult classics like Swingers, High Fidelity, and PCU.

Not content to be limited to just one form of the acting arts, Alex has also lent his voice to animation and video games. Notably, he can be heard as the voice of Nick Fury in Marvel Animation's Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and as Wise in the web series The LeBrons.

In addition to his acting career, Alex has also showcased his singing talents as a member of two influential world music groups in Los Angeles, Hepcat and The Lions. Hepcat has released four albums, with exposure including European and American tours, national magazine features, and an appearance on the Conan O'Brien show. His latest musical collaboration, The Lions, is a 12-piece collective of seasoned Los Angeles musicians playing what they have dubbed "dusty reggae soul". Their latest album, Soul Riot, is currently available on Stones Throw Records.

With a career spanning multiple disciplines, Alex Desert's journey is a testament to his versatility and dedication to his craft.
