Biography

Alex Coker's biography:

Born and raised near Memphis, Tennessee, Alex grew up with a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. He developed a strong foundation in survival skills and was prepared for anything life threw his way.

Coker's military career began in 1992 when he joined the U.S. Army Infantry. He served for ten years, earning an Honorable Discharge and reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant/E-6. During his time in the Army, he completed various training programs, including Airborne School, Air Assault School, Special Forces Assessment and Selection, and U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper Instructor School.

After leaving the Army, Coker joined the Horn Lake Police Department in 2002. He was the Honor Graduate of his class at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer's Training Academy and went on to serve as a K9 Patrol Officer, SWAT Sniper, Honor Guard, F.B.I. Certified Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Recruiter. He was named "Officer of the Year" in 2005.

Coker's next stop was the Central Intelligence Agency, where he worked as a Special Protective Agent with the Global Response Staff from 2006 to 2008. He conducted classified operations overseas and later switched to the Director's Protective Staff, where he protected high-ranking officials, including the Director of CIA and the Director of National Intelligence.

Returning to the Horn Lake Police Department in 2008, Coker served as a K9 Patrol Officer, SWAT Team Assistant Team Leader, SWAT Rappel Master, Honor Guard, Active Shooter Instructor, and Firearms Instructor.

In 2010, Coker joined the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department, where he held various roles, including SWAT Team Explosive Breacher, SWAT Rappel Master, Firearms Instructor, Active Shooter Instructor, Executive Protection Instructor, Honor Guard Team Leader, Glock Pistol Armorer, and Fugitive Division warrant server.

From 2011 to 2014, Coker served full-time on the US Marshals Task Force as a Special Deputy, catching several high-profile murder suspects. He also worked part-time as an Adjunct Instructor at the Police Academy from 2012 to 2014.

Today, Coker is a USPA Skydive Tandem Instructor at West Tennessee Skydiving and remains in law enforcement.
