Alejandro Damiani, professionally known as Ale, is a renowned Uruguayan film director, born in the vibrant city of Montevideo. His educational background is marked by a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, earned in 2006, following his initial studies in Architecture in 2002. Not long after, he embarked on a thriving career in advertising, starting as a copywriter and designer in 2008. As his expertise grew, so did his fascination with animation, leading him to specialize in visual effects and eventually become a VFX coordinator and post-production supervisor.
In 2010, Alejandro joined the esteemed VFX production house Aparato as Creative Director, where he has been directing commercials while also spearheading the company's growth and development. Under his visionary leadership, Aparato has become Uruguay's premier VFX studio. His outstanding work in advertising has garnered numerous prestigious international awards, including FIAP, Ojo de Iberoamérica, Ciclope, and a coveted Bronze Lion in Cannes as a director, as well as Uruguay's first Golden Lion.
Beyond his advertising accomplishments, Alejandro has also explored his passion for filmmaking, directing short films since 2012. One of his most notable projects is the viral short film M.A.M.O.N. (Monitor Against Mexicans Over Nationwide),which he wrote and directed in 2016. This groundbreaking film received widespread media coverage worldwide, amassing over 13 million views on YouTube and tens of millions of reproductions across various digital and traditional platforms. M.A.M.O.N. has won more than 50 awards and was shortlisted in over 200 film festivals globally, including the prestigious Cannes festival.
Today, Alejandro continues to work as a director for the US, Latin-American, and Asian markets, focusing on developing feature films and TV series based on his original ideas. His impressive body of work, both in advertising and filmmaking, has solidified his position as a visionary and innovative creative force in the entertainment industry.
