Albert Romolo Broccoli, known as Cubby, was born on April 5th, 1909, in Astoria, Queens, New York City. His parents, Cristina and Giovanni Broccoli, raised him and his family on their vegetable farm. The family was involved in the vegetable business, and Albert claimed that his uncle brought the first broccoli seeds to the United States in the 1870s.
