Biography

Albert Band, a seasoned filmmaker with an illustrious career spanning over five decades, initially entered the Hollywood scene in the early 1950s. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he played a pivotal role in financing a multitude of motion pictures. In the early 1980s, he collaborated with his son, Charles Band, to establish the production company, Empire Pictures.

As Empire Pictures faced financial difficulties in the early 1990s, Albert Band continued to work alongside his son, Charles, to produce a string of low-budget and medium-budget films, as well as direct-to-video releases. Despite the setbacks, Albert Band remained a driving force in the film industry, continuing to work with his son to bring innovative and captivating stories to the big screen.

Sadly, Albert Band passed away in June 2002, succumbing to stomach and lung cancer. His legacy lives on through his son, Richard Band, a talented film music composer who has contributed to numerous motion pictures.
