Alan White, a talented individual with a multifaceted career, was born in London and raised in Australia. He began his journey as a freelance journalist while still in university, showcasing his exceptional writing skills. With a degree in hand, he secured an Advertising Federation of Australia Graduate Scholarship and embarked on a brief career as a copywriter for Cole and Levi's, garnering several awards and playing in various underground rock bands.
As a musician and copywriter, Alan's path led him behind the camera, where he directed music videos for prominent bands such as the Hunters and Collectors and the Lime Spiders. His work on the "Homer Hudson" commercial campaign earned him a Who's Hot article in Rolling Stone, and his band, The Faith, had their album showcased in the same issue.
Eventually, Alan's day job as a director of TV commercials gained momentum, with notable campaigns for Expedia, Mitsubishi, and Nike under his belt. He has won numerous major awards worldwide, including the Cannes Lions and the first Emmy for an outstanding commercial.
In Australia, Alan co-founded Black, where his work attracted international attention. He later moved to the U.S. and became a founding director of @radical.media before partnering with BOB Industries in 2005.
The new millennium saw Alan transition to film direction, following the success of the critically acclaimed Erskinville Kings, starring Hugh Jackman. He then directed Claudia Karvan and Bryan Brown to critical acclaim in RISK, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
Alan has recently completed his first American feature, Broken, starring Heather Graham, Jeremy Sisto, and Linda Hamilton, a gripping tale of addiction set in the LA night. Broken is set for release in September 2007.
