Kelly's artistic journey commenced as a skilled makeup artist and hair stylist in Manhattan's prestigious fashion and commercial industry, where he spent numerous years working behind the camera, expertly styling photo shoots for renowned magazines, television programs, and commercials.

As his creative aspirations evolved, Kelly made the bold decision to pivot his career and transition into writing, subsequently securing representation with a reputable literary agent.

In 1999, Kelly ventured into the realm of screenwriting, directing, and producing, focusing on the horror genre, and quickly gained recognition with his award-winning debut, the schlocker "I'll Bury You Tomorrow," released in 2002.
