Ahmad Ebrahimi is a multifaceted filmmaker from Afghanistan who has been honing his craft behind the camera for over a decade. He began his career in the television industry, working as a TV content producer for prominent Afghan stations such as TOLO TV, and later as a Production Coordinator for a multitude of television commercials with FKH media.
As his skills and experience grew, Ahmad transitioned to directing and producing his own short films, showcasing his talents and creativity in the world of storytelling. However, his journey took a dramatic turn when he sought asylum on the Greek island of Lesvos, where he found himself among a community of asylum seekers.
As a refugee artist and activist, Ahmad feels a deep sense of responsibility to share the voices and stories of those around him. He has used his talents to create powerful podcasts, photographs, and films that highlight the struggles and challenges faced by asylum seekers.
One of his most notable projects is his short film "Lucky Vulnerable", which tells the poignant story of the refugee plight in Moria camp and won the prestigious Cine15 Film Festival. Ahmad also worked as the co-producer, cinematographer, and director on the award-winning feature-length documentary "Citizens of Moria", which chronicles his own experiences living in the Moria refugee camp.
In addition to his work on "Citizens of Moria", Ahmad has collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Mijke de Jong on the movie "Along the Way", serving as a collaborating writer and second director assistant. He has also worked as a member of the casting team on the second season of "Tehran", a series funded by Apple TV, and the film "Exodus", directed by Abbe Hassan.
Throughout his career, Ahmad has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt to new challenges and environments, and his work continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.
