Adam Kahan began his career in the film industry by directing a documentary titled "Wolves in Winter", which received two Emmy nominations. His subsequent project, "Color Me Blue", a film about the NYPD and its heroes, earned him his first Emmy award.
Adam has also directed a wide range of music videos and commercials, showcasing his versatility as a director. His work includes the Rolling Stones' "Emotional Rescue" video, which was part of the Whitney Museum Biennial celebration, and the video for Whodini's "Big Mouth", which is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
In addition to his music video work, Adam has directed over 40 music videos for various acts, including The Rolling Stones, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Jean-Luc Ponty, and The Robert Joffrey Ballet. He then went on to direct his first feature film, "Medium Straight", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won awards at the Seattle and Ft. Lauderdale film festivals.
Adam formed his own production company, Perpetual Motion Films, in 1991, and went on to produce and direct a number of successful projects, including the "From the Air Combat" and "Masters of War" series, as well as the acclaimed "Biography" series, which included episodes on George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Atila the Hun, and Michelangelo.
In 2002, Adam founded Traveling Light Media, where he produced, directed, and wrote programming for various networks, including A&E, Discovery, The History Channel, HBO Mojo HD, and Spike TV. His work during this period included the "Biography" series on John Travolta, which was nominated for an Emmy award for Best Non-Fiction Series, and the "Biography" episodes on Kevin Costner, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and LL Cool J, which earned him Cine Golden Eagle Awards.
Adam has also directed a number of other films, including "The Crash of Flight 191" and "And She Was", which starred Patrick Warburton and Brad Dourif. In 2009, he joined Cannery Agency as Head of Production and Development, and is currently working on a diverse slate of projects.
