Ádám Császi, a Hungarian filmmaker, was born in 1978 in Hungary. He pursued his academic endeavors at the prestigious University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, where he was fortunate enough to be mentored by renowned industry professionals István Szabó and Béla Tarr. Császi's impressive educational background laid the foundation for his subsequent success in the film industry.
His debut feature film, "Land of Storms," premiered at the esteemed Berlinale in 2014, where it was showcased in the Panorama section and received nominations for the Best First Feature Award and the Teddy Award. This remarkable achievement was followed by a string of successful festival appearances, including the Sarajevo Film Festival, where "Land of Storms" was in competition, and the Taipei Film Festival, which awarded the film the Special Jury Prize. Additionally, "Land of Storms" won the Audience Award at the Tel Aviv Film Festival in 2014.
Notably, "Land of Storms" was screened at over 40 international film festivals and secured distribution deals in seven regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Spain.
Császi's subsequent script, "High Dive," was selected for the official competition at the Berlinale Co-production Market in 2015 and was also part of the prestigious Nipkow program.
His short films, "Seven days" and "Weak days," have garnered significant recognition within the Hungarian film community. "Seven days" received the Special Prize at the Hungarian Film Week in 2003, while "Weak days" won the Best Short Film award at the same event in 2008.
Császi's 2009 short film, "Celebration," was invited to screen at the Warsaw Film Festival and the Brest European Short Film Festival in 2010.
Before focusing exclusively on feature film projects, Császi gained valuable experience directing commercials, TV documentaries, and music videos. Since 2012, he has dedicated himself to working solely on his feature film projects.
