Adam Boyer, a man of diverse passions and talents, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and had a strong affinity for hockey from a very young age. As soon as he could walk, he had skates strapped to his feet, and playing hockey was his first love. However, his family's move to Atlanta, Georgia, brought an unexpected twist, as the city's climate did not lend itself to the sport of hockey. Undeterred, Boyer turned his attention to soccer, playing the sport at the high school, college, and professional levels in two different countries.
As he grew older, Boyer began to realize that he would not be the next Lionel Messi, and he turned his attention to another one of his passions - acting. He started taking acting classes at Georgia State University in the late 1980s and later joined the Warehouse Actor's Theatre in Atlanta, becoming the first student in the school's history to earn his thesis there.
In 1997, Boyer landed his first lead role in a feature film, playing Burton Bomhoff in The Reel Reason. Since then, he has appeared in a wide range of films, including Solace, Safe Haven, ATL, Halloween 2, The Change Up, Looper, and Sully. He has also had notable roles in several television series, including The Game, One Tree Hill, Necessary Roughness, Homeland, Revolution, Resurrection, Nashville, Sleepy Hollow, Powers, Ozark, and The Walking Dead.
One of his most iconic roles is that of Sergeant First Class Leon Wisniewski, or "Ski," on the Lifetime series Army Wives. Most recently, Boyer wrapped filming on a new show with Jason Bateman, which is set to be released on Netflix in the summer of 2017.
