Biography

Abraham Lim is a Korean American director, writer, and producer who has made a name for himself in the film industry with his award-winning work. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees as a scholarship student at New York University, where he honed his craft and developed a passion for storytelling.

Over the course of his ten-year career in Hollywood and New York, Lim has worked on a wide range of projects for prominent networks and studios, including National Geographic, ESPN, FOX TV, Fox Searchlight, and Sony Pictures. During his time at NYU, he directed over 20 music videos for major record labels such as Polygram, Sony, and Jive Records, showcasing his versatility and creativity as a director.

Lim's graduate thesis film, "Fly," caught the attention of legendary director Robert Altman, who met with him after a screening of the film and later asked him to edit his next project, "Cookie's Fortune." Altman also signed on as an executive producer for Lim's first feature film, "Roads and Bridges."

After making two feature films with Asian American casts, both of which received positive reviews in Variety, Lim grew frustrated with the challenges of securing distribution and decided to shift his focus to working in Asia. Based in Seoul, South Korea, he won the KOFIC/BFC independent film grant at the Busan Film Festival for his third feature film, "God Is Dead." The film made its festival debut at the Cinequest Film Festival in 2010 and went on to win several awards, including Best Feature Film at the KOFFLA Korean Los Angeles Film Festival and the Phoenix Comic Con.

In recent years, Lim has continued to work on a variety of projects, including directing a children's television show in Singapore and a program for SPIKE TV in Manila featuring MMA star Rampage Jackson. His fourth feature film, "Where Is Wang Hao," was shot across China and completed in 2016. His fifth feature film, a documentary titled "Shifting: View From Antarctica," is set to be completed at the end of 2017.
