Abdurrahim Arsyad, professionally known as Abdur Arsyad, is a renowned Indonesian comedian and actor. He gained widespread recognition as the second winner of the fourth season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV in 2014.
Abdur's journey in the comedy world began in May 2012, when he was discovered by the Indo Malang Stand Up community, who recognized his comedic talent. He then honed his skills within the community, learning various techniques and eventually participating in a stand-up comedy competition at a private campus in Surabaya towards the end of 2012. As the sole representative from Malang, Abdur emerged victorious, winning a prize of 1.5 million and marking the beginning of his open mic career.
By 2014, Abdur had joined four other comics who passed the Surabaya audition and was selected to appear on Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV season 4, also known as SUCI 4. His comedy style, which often incorporated social criticism and commentary on societal phenomena, resonated with audiences. Abdur's performances were notable for their unique perspective as a representative from Eastern Indonesia, similar to Arie Kriting in the previous year.
Abdur's impressive run in SUCI 4 saw him advance to the top 3 alongside Dzawin and David Nurbianto, earning the nickname "Trio Kasuari" due to the guest star, Trio Lestari. He ultimately managed to eliminate Dzawin and reach the grand final against David. Although Abdur was initially nervous about performing in front of his childhood friends, he ultimately finished as the runner-up, losing to David who wowed the judges with his material about his Betawi ethnicity.
Abdur's success in comedy paved the way for his entry into the world of acting. His first acting venture was in the 2015 film Water & Fire, marking the beginning of his journey in the film industry.
