Biography

Before embarking on a professional acting career, Saxon initially garnered recognition as a wrestler, adopting the persona "Lord Spears". His unique gimmick involved entering the wrestling arena dressed in a formal suit and reciting Shakespearean quotes at every available opportunity. The distinctive cauliflower ears he sported as a result of his wrestling endeavors often led to him being typecast in certain roles. However, after securing a few film appearances, Saxon was able to afford the luxury of undergoing plastic surgery in a bid to expand his acting repertoire and land more diverse roles. One of his earliest assignments following the procedure was the part of a newspaper journalist in the 1957 film "The True Story of Jesse James", where he played a character seeking a deeper understanding of the infamous outlaw Jesse James.
