Vic Dakin, a criminal gang leader from East London, cares for his ailing mother while using violence to maintain control over his gang and victims. Despite his brutal nature, he decides to rob a factory payroll with Frank Fletcher, a fellow criminal with expertise in such jobs. The heist is complicated by the police pursuing Vic for a vicious attack on a former informant and his association with Wolfie Lissner, who provides sexual services to high-profile clients.
