In 1976, a mysterious disease emerges, eerily similar to one that plagued Chicago in 1871. Dr. Earnshaw, a physician seeking a cure, teams up with Jeffrey Adams, who claims to know a scientist who has mastered time travel. Their plan is to travel back to 1871 and learn from Dr. Henderson, who successfully treated patients with the same disease. However, a malfunction sends them back a day earlier than intended, and they find themselves in the midst of a chaotic city just before the devastating Chicago Fire.
