Tracy Goodwyn, a skeptical art history expert, is the last of her friends to possess a rare 19th-century Italian lace wedding veil that's said to bring true love to its owner. While her friends Avery and Emma found love with the veil, Tracy is hesitant to believe in its magic, especially after her recent breakup. She meets Nick Serchio, a high-end restaurateur, while planning a party at work and is initially resistant to his charms due to their differing views on New York City issues. Despite their disagreements, they bond over their shared love for the city and help each other with work-related issues, including Tracy's quest to find a museum to purchase an original draft of Emma Lazarus' "The New Colossus" and Nick's efforts to open a new Asian-Italian fusion restaurant against his nonna's wishes.
