A former mental patient, with a history of violence, is released from the institution and returns to his old neighborhood, despite the warnings from his doctors. Feeling overwhelmed by city life, he decides to leave the city and boards a bus to a small coastal town. He settles into a motel room and begins a romance with the owner's daughter. However, their happiness is short-lived as the girl's father becomes suspicious of his troubled past.
