The Net background

The Net

A careless fisherman's mistake sets off a treacherous journey when his boat drifts from North Korea into South Korea, leading to intense interrogations and a long-awaited reunion with home.

A poor fisherman, Namchulwoo, lives a peaceful life with his family on the north side of a river separating the two Koreas. He's a familiar face to the checkpoint soldiers, who trust him not to cross the invisible border. However, his routine is disrupted when his fishing net gets tangled in a boat engine, causing him to drift into the south.
