In the midst of the Crimean conflict between the Reds and Whites, a young woman named Jeanne discovers her lover is a Bolshevik who has killed her father. With no money, she returns to Paris and finds work with her uncle. However, her lover Andreas arrives in France to organize sailors in Toulon, unaware of the danger lurking in the form of a treacherous thief, Khalibiev, who seeks to seduce Jeanne and destroy her relationship with Andreas.
