As the investigation unfolds, Angus and Lord James D'Ampton discover a dark cult history and a legend of a dragon-snake, the D'Ampton Worm, which was allegedly killed by James's ancestor. The trio soon realizes that the creature may have survived and is being freed by Lady Marsh, leading them on a desperate quest to stop her.
