Journalist Shuichi Fujii receives a letter from convicted killer Junji Sudo, who wants to confess to unknown crimes. Sudo reveals a real estate broker, "Doc", orchestrated a string of murders, and Fujii begins to uncover the truth, despite resistance from his editor, police, and wife.
