Joan, an oil heiress, plans to elope with bandleader Allen, whom she's only known for four days. However, her plans take a dramatic turn when pilot Steve, who's out of money, makes a deal with her father to deliver her home unmarried. Despite appearing to be a kidnapping, Steve's intentions are revealed when they're forced to make an emergency landing in the desert. The situation becomes even more complicated when the bandleader and a preacher arrive, only to discover that their marriage, performed in California, is invalid. In the end, Steve agrees to marry Joan, not out of love, but because her father is a millionaire.
