Two best friends, Lizzie and Janie, share a deep bond and similar interests, including crushes, gossip, and a taste for liquor. They frequently sneak alcohol at home and school without getting caught. At a pre-graduation party, they get drunk and Lizzie decides to drive Janie home, but crashes the car in a rainstorm. Janie dies in the accident, and the movie follows the aftermath and Lizzie's recovery from the trauma, including a DUI trial.
