The documentary follows a Vancouver-based non-profit, Refugee Rainbow, as they privately sponsor LGBTQ refugees facing persecution in their home country. The organization guarantees support for a year and assigns each refugee a "circle" of volunteers who commit to supporting them until the end of that year. The film focuses on one such circle of eleven individuals, including a 22-year-old refugee named Drake from Uganda, as they navigate their differences and internal struggles while trying to help Drake adjust to his new life in Vancouver.
