A celebrated author is wrongly accused of a bank heist and turns to his ex-wife, who's now married to a powerful figure on the verge of becoming California's Attorney General, for assistance.
Nick Gardenia, a writer, is kidnapped from his California cliffhouse and coerced into robbing a bank, leaving him a fugitive. He turns to his ex-wife, Glenda, a public defender now remarried to a prosecutor, for assistance, resulting in a chaotic and comedic sequence of events.
