Ratcatcher background

Ratcatcher

In 1970s Glasgow, a young boy finds solace among a group of fellow outcasts, struggling to survive in a harsh and impoverished environment.

In the summer of 1973, Glasgow is plagued by a dustmen's strike, leaving streets littered with trash and council flats in disarray. The story follows 12-year-old James, whose life is forever changed when his friend Ryan drowns during a playful fight. As James navigates the challenges of his neighborhood, he forms connections with his quirky neighbor Kenny, who shares his love for rodents, and Margaret Anne, a slightly older girl who is often mistreated by the boys in the area.
