My Talk with Florence background

My Talk with Florence

A powerful documentary that delves into the heart-wrenching story of survival, courage, and perseverance from the past century.

Florence Burnier-Bauer was born in Paris in 1949 to an upper middle-class family with Russian roots. She was subjected to sexual abuse by her grandfather and later forced into a life of crime. She escaped to a commune led by Actionist Artist Otto Mühl, but it was there that she faced even more horrific abuse. After escaping, she brought Mühl to justice, exposing his crimes of pedophilia, rape, and orchestrated abuse. Her story is a disturbing account of a time known for its social liberalization and a warning about the dangers of fascist thinking that can exist even in seemingly progressive environments.
