Forrest, an 18-year-old snowboarder, suffers a traumatic brain injury in a freak accident, leaving him unable to speak or move for nearly two years. Tom, a music therapist, uses unorthodox methods to try and get a response from Forrest, eventually teaching him to hum and eventually speak.
