In a fictional Latin American country, a brutal government forces a rural insurgency to the brink of desperation through violence and terror. As the soldiers close in, a family of rebels, including a grandfather, son, and grandson, must use all their wits to survive. The grandfather, a master of disguise, poses as a harmless farmer to sneak past a checkpoint, but his cover is blown when the commanding officer demands daily music lessons. With his trusty violin by his side, the old man must find a way to smuggle vital ammunition past the soldiers, all while keeping his true intentions hidden.
