Cabaret background

Cabaret

In 1920s Berlin, a captivating cabaret performer navigates a complex web of love and politics as the Nazi Party gains momentum, torn between two men who embody contrasting futures.

Cambridge University student Brian Roberts arrives in Berlin in 1931 to study German, and befriends American singer Sally Bowles at a rooming house. Sally works at the decadent Kit Kat Klub, where Brian is drawn into her world and initially becomes one of her many suitors. However, Sally learns Brian is a homosexual and instead introduces him to her other friends, including her students and wealthy Baron Maximilian von Heune. As they navigate their relationships, the Nazi uprising gains momentum, but they seem to pay little attention until it ultimately affects their lives.
