Two thousand years after Bathor, a vampire, founded the village of Bathory, superstition and religious violence erupt as men and women clash for power. When the men fall ill, they blame the vampire women and launch a hunt. Meanwhile, long-lost lovers Élisabeth and Fantine join forces with outcasts to uncover the past and save their crumbling society before Bathor's return and judgment.
