A British soap opera about the staff of the Crossroads Motel in the Midlands, set in the fictional village of Kings Oak near Birmingham. The motel, owned by widowed businesswoman Meg Richardson, has 16 chalets, a bar, kitchen, office, and private sitting room. Meg's daughter Jill, initially the receptionist, helps her mother with the business and both women have unsuccessful marriages over the years.
