A young 19-year-old girl, Zimbabwe, is orphaned and forced to leave her village in search of a distant aunt. She's smuggled into South Africa, where she finds work as a domestic worker, but is repeatedly abused. In a desperate bid to protect herself, she commits a violent act and escapes by turning herself in. After being repatriated to Zimbabwe, she discovers her brother has crossed the border to find her.
