Afros and pleated shirts, James Brown and Bootsy Collins, defined the 1970s at an inner-city Houston high school. Charismatic band leader Conrad "Prof" Johnson transformed the school's jazz band into a legendary funk powerhouse. Thirty-five years later, his students prepare to honor the 92-year-old Prof by reviving their instruments and reuniting on stage to prove they still have what it takes.
