A traveller visits his old friend Roderick Usher at his mansion, only to find him and his sister Madeline afflicted with a strange illness. Roderick's senses become extremely acute, while Madeline becomes nearly comatose. As the guest stays, Roderick reveals a dark family curse: whenever there are multiple Usher children, they all succumb to madness and gruesome deaths.
